Tips for consuming less and better

Reducing your daily energy consumption, while acting for the planet and your budget : it's simpler than it seems. A few reflexes are enough to make a difference.

 

Simple actions to adopt every day :

  • Make the most of natural light :
    Let in daylight — free, more pleasant and healthier for your eyes.
     
  • Switch off when leaving :
    Turn off the lights when leaving a room or heading out.
     
  • Unplug rather than leaving on standby :
    Unplug or switch off your devices rather than leaving them on standby. And remember to remove chargers from the socket once the battery is full.
     
  • Choose LED bulbs :
    Opt for LED bulbs, far less energy-hungry than halogen lamps.
     
  • Descale to heat better :
    Descale your appliances regularly to limit heating time.
     
  • Just what you need :
    In the kettle, heat only the amount of water you need.
     
  • A lid is enough :
    Place a lid on your saucepans : water heats faster, and you save energy.
     
  • Take advantage of residual heat :
    Switch off the oven 5 to 10 minutes before the end of cooking : residual heat finishes the job, without consuming.
     
  • Maintain your freezer :
    Set your thermostat correctly and defrost your freezer regularly.
